What is an NTP and what is Nutritional Therapy?
A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) is one who has been certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association. An NTP is not trained or licensed to treat pathological conditions, illnesses, injuries, or diseases. However, an NTP is trained to evaluate a client’s specific needs and makes recommendations and protocols for dietary changes and some possible nutritional supplementation.
The goal for Nutritional Therapy is to encourage clients to become knowledgeable about and responsible for their own health, and bringing that health to a personal optimum level. Nutritional Therapy is designed to improve the health of the client, but is not designed to treat any specific disease or medical condition. Reaching the goal of optimum health, absent other non-nutritional complicating factors, requires a sincere commitment from the client, possible lifestyle changes, and a positive attitude! An NTP is not meant to be a substitute for a family physician or other appropriate healthcare provider. In fact, it is highly encouraged for the client to stay in close contact with his/her medical practitioner as he/she makes the necessary lifestyle and nutritional changes.
Nutritional Therapy is meant for anyone suffering from any signs and symptoms that might otherwise allow him/her to lead a normal, productive, healthy, and fulfilling life. Healthy, Healed, You. specializes in blood sugar control and regulation, including Diabetes management, as well as healthy weight loss and management, and various levels of digestive distress and disorder.
All of my clients at Healthy, Healed, You. will receive a thorough analysis and evaluation of their health concerns and potential healing goals. This analysis includes an extensive health history questionnaire, food journal analyses, and a Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire, followed by nutritional and lifestyle recommendations. Clients who are able to visit me in person will also be able to have a Functional Evaluation in addition to the rest of the analyses and evaluations. If you are not in the Central Oregon area, or are unable to travel to the office, there is still plenty of space for you! Remote clients will be treated as if they were right in the office, even if they are a phone or Skype call, or just an e-mail away. I will work just as hard to be able to give distance clients the same thorough analysis and evaluation as local clients
